Counselling with Alexi

Alexi (he/him) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with Sea to Tree Health & Wellness. He is a parent, husband, and Queer man with mixed Indigenous/settler ancestry. He comes to Sea to Tree with over 10 years’ experience working with youth, adults, families, Indigenous communities, LGBTQ+ folx, and people living with disabilities.

My counselling style is highly collaborative and guided by curiosity. I work from the understanding that we come to know and understand ourselves through relationship to many things, such as our families and friends, cultures, communities. I believe that we make meaning of our lives through our interconnectedness. I strive to create a deep sense of relational safety, trust, and groundedness, and I take the time to understand you, your unique identity, and the experiences that inform you (in all their fluidity). My practice is grounded in the belief that people are the experts of their lives, and that counselling can serve as a place to gently explore, make new meanings, and re-discover existing abilities. Along with a sense of calm and comfort, I aim to bring joy and laughter into the therapeutic space.

I am passionate about working with folx navigating life transitions, grief and loss, belonging, gender and sexuality, men’s mental health, and the ambiguity of these spaces. I have special interests in working with youth, families, and parents/co-parents, and love bringing counselling into natural, outdoor spaces.

I am an Intern at Sea to Tree Health & Wellness while awaiting my registration to the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
