Our First Responder Wellness Program

First Responders benefit greatly from counsellors who have in-depth knowledge of the occupational stressors faced on a daily basis and are Occupationally Aware Clinicians. Sea to Tree Health & Wellness recognizes the need for counsellors to have specialized training to address the unique challenges and impacts experienced in the field.The First Responder Wellness Program provides year long support and is designed to help you make a difference in your work and personal life.

Jim offers decades of experience specializing in treating chronic pain and traumatic psychological injury providing individuals in safety-sensitive positions by providing resources and tools that assist in sustained resilience. He is accessible to individual public safety personnel and critical response for individuals and groups. Jim is an Occupationally Aware Clinician listed with First Responder Health.

Emily brings to her counselling practice an understanding of the unique culture and challenges that can accompany work as a first responder, as well as the importance of mental health support for those in these roles. She is currently working as a career firefighter and has previous experience in other roles within the fire service.

Janet is a mature registered MSW from UBC with over 30 years practice providing clinical counselling, corporate, medical, academic consulting services. She has developed a therapeutic intuition and wisdom over many years while recognizing that supporting a client to access their own deepest knowing and inner wisdom is the most effective method.

Tara is our clinical director. Having experience as a first responder in a variety of capacities, Tara brings experience and first-hand knowledge of the occupational stressors that are faced on a daily basis. Tara is also part of a variety of critical response teams able to support groups and individuals. Tara is an Occupationally Aware Clinician listed with First Responder Health.

Sea to Tree Health & Wellness Ltd. (originally called Sitka Wellness) was founded in 2019. It was born from the desire to create more opportunities for people to access local wellness services. We have a small team of practitioners committed to supporting you in person and behind the scenes to make this possible.
