Counselling with Shannon
I have lived experience that keeps me grounded, real and humble. I understand struggles and obstacles that life can throw at you when you least expect it. I understand the depths of emotional despair and how challenging it can be to see the sunshine again. I am open to connect and meet clients at whatever stage of life they are in. My experiences of growing up on reserve land gave me a unique understanding of struggles and obstacles within Aboriginal populations. After moving to the city, I gained extensive experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse. After a lifetime of witnessing people struggle with mental health I began working in the field and attended university where I completed a Bachelor of Psychology with specific research in barriers to accessing mental health services. I am now in the final stages of completing a Master of Counselling.
I have spent the last 7 years giving back to the community working with various populations supporting them through acute mental illness, trauma, and addiction. I began working with Aboriginal women who struggle with addiction and mental illness then began working with youth that have been in and out of foster care who have acute mental illness and addiction struggles. In the past several years I have been working between two psychiatric hospitals supporting patients with trauma, addiction, and mental illness.

We Are Here
Sea to Tree Health & Wellness (originally called Sitka Wellness) was founded in 2019. It was born from the desire to create more opportunities for people to access local wellness services. We have a small team of practitioners committed to supporting you in person and behind the scenes to make this possible.
We respectfully acknowledge that we live and work on the unceded traditional territory of the T’Sou-ke First Nation. Born and raised on Coast Salish territories (West Coast of BC), it is a privilege to live and work on this land.
